Vauxhall’s VXR8 is getting a new V8. The latest bent eight – designated LS3 – gains an extra 195cc to take power up to 425bhp. The 6.2-litre V8 is same engine that has also found its way into the revised Corvette and Pontiac’s version of the VXR8, the G8.
The Vauxhall Adam – Vauxhall and Opel’s MINI competitor – will start from £11,255 when it goes on sale in January 2013. And with prices announced from £11,255 it looks like the Adam may just have a fighting chance of taking a piece of the market dominated by MINI and the Fiat 500. Of course, GM are hoping that no one who goes in to a Vauxhall showroom will go out with a basic car – a vast array of style and customisation options are the order of the day with the Adam – but the headline starting point is a decent one.
The 2010 Land Rover Freelander 2 - Off Road
We had the Land Rover Freelander 2 for a week recently and found it – as we do with all current Land Rover products – to be even better than you’d have thought. But what was quite surprising is how well the Freelander 2 manages the rough stuff. It’s true we didn’t go absolutely berserk with the off-roading, but we did far more than soft-roading at a boot sale.
